Effect of Drying Pretreatment on Cellulolytic Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Lignin from Napier Grass

Biomass can be a viable supplement and alternative to non-renewable sources of fuel chemicals. Lignin is an important part biomass which used in various chemical industries. This study explores the pretreatment lignin from Napier grass using thermal physical means, as well extraction via cellulolytic enzymatic hydrolysis determine optimum condition for feedstock pretreatment. parts under drying conditions particle sizes were treated with enzymes. Moisture analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, UV–Vis Klason carried out analyze moisture, functional group, yield lignin. content samples inversely proportional conditions. The result showed lower peak intensity higher conditions, while ball-milling less reduction intensity. More was extracted (CEL) found more than actual content, suggesting cellulose not fully degraded. spectra CEL closer that lignin, but purification still needed. Optimization by evaluating statistical significance each effect pretreatments.
